Become an Academic Fellow

As an Academic Fellow at Frontier, you can work freelance and remotely, doing at least one of the following:

  • Developing curricula for students, tailored to their individual objectives and ambitions.
  • Interviewing applicants as part of the admissions process.
  • Developing, marking and possibly administering examinations for students.
  • Tutoring students one-on-one.

You will work with our students, through us. We will contact you when we have an opportunity for you, and you will be allowed to decline it. You will be able to take up these opportunities as often as you wish. The academic fellowship can therefore be regarded as a better-paid, remote, freelance equivalent of a senior academic position.

To fulfil this role well, you need expertise in a relevant field. Relevant fields are those our students seek to specialize in. We look for students in certain fields in particular, which can be found in the 'areas of focus' section on our academics page. If your domains of expertise lie within our areas of focus, we are more likely to make you an academic fellow. We base our evaluation of subject matter experts on their track records, including impactful research, involvement in innovative companies and so on. Credentials will also be taken into account.

Remuneration is highly competitive, well above what the average academic makes per hour. You can determine your own fees separately for each opportunity we give you, which can then be accepted or declined by our students. This way, we let remuneration depend on your availability and our alternatives.

If you are interested, please submit an application that details your relevant expertise and experience, and explains which of the tasks listed above you are interested in.

To apply, please fill in the application form on this page and attach your CV. If you attach a cover letter, please keep its length below 500 words. Important: If the upload function does not work, please send your attachments to academicfellows@frontieru.org.

Thank you! Your submission has been received!
